Ovčar-Kablar Gorge lies between the mountains of Kablar (985 m) and Ovčar (885 m), 50-100 m in width. It is located around 160 km from Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. It is the most picturesque gorge in Serbia. It features steep, high limestone sides that conceal a number of cave openings, the "gooseneck” meanders of the Zapadna Morava river and an authentic and unique flora and fauna.

Ovčar-Kablar Gorge is a natural location of great importance. Ovčar-Kablar Gorge features an outstanding, beautiful and diverse landscape, a unique and culturally and historically very important complex of ten monasteries, memorials and other religious sites and features. Also of great importance is the region’s geological heritage – exemplifying the significant interaction of geological, geomorphologic and hydrological processes and phenomena – and its diverse and multiply significant flora and fauna. This tour is suitable for beginners in walking. Accommodation will be in mountain lodge in double and triple rooms with own bathroom. This mountain lodge has its own restaurant.

Day 1: Belgrade – Ovcar spa (around 150 km) (D)
Arrival at Belgrade airport. Transfer to Ovčar Banja, where you will stay. Dinner in mountain lodge. Overnight stay.

Day 2: Ovčar-Kablar Gorge – "Girls' Rocks" hiking path and path of St Sava (B, P, D) (around 15 km)
After breakfast, we start the first day of our walking tour in Ovčar-Kablar Gorge. The hiking paths for this day are called Girls' Rocks and St Sava and the starting point is in front of our lodge. We will cover some 15 km.It will last approx. 5 hours in total and you will reach height of 885 m. This paths is for suitable for ones who have experience in walking. We will go through forest and only on the top of this path is small plateau. We will move through the forest, which gradually fades into low and stunted vegetation, with a constant rise in elevation. At one viewpoint we will have the opportunity to see Preobraženje monastery. We will pass through a beautiful wood, with a few interesting places to rest. By taking it easy, the going will not be too demanding or risky. Soon we will come across a place where our two paths cross and where we will climb to the Maiden's Rock, a vantage point overlooking the meanders of the Western Morava Valley. Continue to St Sava path where you will have the opportunity to take water from the St Sava spring and enjoy a gorgeous view of Kablar Mountain. In the late afternoon hours, return to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Ovčar-Kablar Gorge – hornbeam slopes (B, P, D) (around 15 km)
On this day, along our walking path we will see the following: St. Ilinje monastery, built on the location of a former mediaeval fortress. Near the intersection the trail turns and a gravel road leads through meadows and the Radović farmstead. The trail leads us through a small gate right out of the way in plum orchard. Pick one and taste the real flavor of nature. At one peak in this forest is a rest spot where you will enjoy Kablar mountain and surroundings and the view over the St Trojstvo, Blagovest and Preobraženje monasteries and Ovčar Spa. We will continue to Sretenje monastery, where we will pass its old cemetery and visit the monastery itself. Here you can enjoy a picnic. After the picnic and a visit to the monastery, we continue through the forest and return to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay. This path is good for relaxation, you will reach height of 885 m, and you will need approx. 5 hours in total.

Day 4: Ovčar – Kablar Gorge – Mokra Gora – Sirogojno – Ovčar – Kablar Gorge (around 150 km) – transfer by mini bus (BL)
After breakfast, we will pick you up and take you to Mokra Gora. Here you will enjoy a train ride on a steam-powered train called the Šargan Eight. This train will take you through the beautiful landscape of Tara and Zlatibor mountains. After the ride, we continue to Sirogojno. This village is an open-air museum, where you will see old houses from past times and old tolls for work. In this village we have lunch and you will have the opportunity to taste different Serbian specialties. In the evening hours, return to Ovčar Spa. Overnight stay.

Day 5: Ovčar-Kablar Gorge (around 10 km) (BD)
This trail is named Dušan Krnjajić, after a famous climber from this area. The trail has several branches, so that entrance to the path is possible from the Pejičine curve, from Međuvršje and from the Vavedenje monastery. The path leads through the forest where you will pass by some cottages, and at 400 m from the starting point you will find old cemetery. Leading up to this intersection is a constant rise, but further on the path is almost flat for the next 1000 m of the walk. At the end of this section, we arrive first to an old abandoned house and homestead, and just below is the monastery of Vaznesenje. From this place there is a view of Ovčar peak and Kablar Mountain and parts of the gorge, and the hinterland of the left bank of the gorge. In the afternoon hours, return to lodge. Dinner and overnight stay. Maximum altitude of this path is 985 m.

Day 6: Ovčar-Kablar Gorge – Topola – Oplenac – Belgrade (around 170 km) (BL)
After breakfast, your host will wish you goodbye and you will leave this beautiful area, and head north. First stop en route to Belgrade will be Topola. In this small town in Šumadija, the heart of Serbia, you will visit Oplenac, the royal complex. This complex was built by the Karađorđević royal family in the 19th century. Here you will visit the mausoleum and church. Lunch will be served in a rural household in the village of Orašac. In the evening hours, arrival in Belgrade. Accommodation in a hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 7: Belgrade (B) (approx. 20 km)
After breakfast, departure for the airport for your flight home. Program ends.
