Modern fortresses were built on the places of previously built fortresses of the times of Romans, Celts, Ottomans, Serbians… During this tour you’ll not only visit fortresses, but you will also hear more about history, culture and tradition of people that once lived here as well as about the rich culture and tradition of people that live here today.

Departure from Belgrade to Gamzigrad (cca 250km). Visit to the Roman complex called "Felix Romuliana", one of the most important late Roman sites in Europe. Presents the endowment of Emperor Gaj Valerie Galerie Maximian (293 - 311.) From 2007, Felix Romuliana is under protection of UNESCO. Archaeological diggings in the fortress have revealed the remains of a palace with exceptionally fine mosaics, public baths and impressive city gates. Departure to Zajecar. Departure to National Museum and visit to the exhibition of archaeological explorations of Felix Romuliana. Lunch in Zajecar - traditional (buffet) in „Turkish water-mill“. Departure to Pimnice of Rajac, unique complex of numerous wine cellars, partially dug into the ground. The "pimnice" are built from trimmed stone and beams. The cellars are partially underground and on the ground floor there are rooms to live in during the grape-harvest. Wine tasting of red wines, such as Prokupac, Burgundy, Gamay...Departure to Kladovo (cca 100km). Accommodation in a hotel. Dinner. Overnight.

Breakfast. Visit to Fortress Diana, located on a high cliff above the Danube River, in Karataš place. It was built by emperor Traian in I century. This is one of the best preserved Roman fortresses in Serbia, although it was demolished by Goths in 378 and Huns in mid-V century. Boat cruise through Djerdap Gorge. Sightseeing of Tabula Traiana from the boat. Tabula Traiana presents the stone board of emperor Traian, the preserved monument that remains on time when the emperor built the road through Djerdap region. Traditional lunch in Donji Milanovac and gathering with a host – sculptor. The ambient will be completed with an original sounds of flute and with the view on Danube river and surrounding mountains. Departure to Viminacium, roman town and military camp, located on the place of Kostolac. This is a place, where numerous graves were discovered on the necropolis of this ancient town. There are three important localities that can be visited by small electric train – termae, aqueducts and mausoleum. Departure to Belgrade (cca 100km). The end of the program (around 8 p.m.))
