And all aforementioned, combined with Serbian hospitality, beautiful nature, delicious traditional food will make this tour enjoyable. The Roman Paths tour features the best of the ancient Empire as it winds through glorious cities, intriguing monasteries and majestic ruins. Follow the Roman path and watch as history unfolds before your eyes!

Day 1. Belgrade - Niš (D) (240 km)
Arrival in Belgrade and meeting with guide at the Airport. Departure to Niš, accommodation in a hotel.
Welcome drink and snack at the hotel. Sightseeing of most important sights, visit Nis Fortress, a complex and very important cultural and historical monument, an edifice that dominate the urban nucleus of the city. Visit the monument of Saban Bajramovic, worldwide famous Balkan gypsy jazz king. Departure to Mediana, an arheological site from the late Roman period. It was a royal property with luxurious residence and highly organized economy, placed in the suburb of the antique Nis-Naissus. Return to the hotel, ralaxation. Dinner in traditional restaurant with south-serbian specialties. Overnight.

Day 2. Niš – Knjaževac – Timacum Minus - Felix Romuliana – Zaječar (B,D) (120 km)
After breakfast at the hotel, departure to Knjaževac for a degustation of Roman wines. Tour continues to Timacum Minus, which represent Roman habitantion. Fortress and nearby village was dated in 1st century AD, and last up until Justinian's restore of the empire in 6th century. After that we will visit Felix Romuliana, Roman site, the former residence of the Emperor Galerius, who was born and buried on this place. You will have opportunity to find out why this is one of the most important late Roman sites in Europe. Departure to Zaječar. Accommodation at the hotel. Dinner in ethno restaurant – typical „kafana“ in Timok’s region, with authentic atmosphere. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3. Zaječar –Jabukovac village - Vratna - Kladovo (B,L) (120km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure toward Jabukovac, magic village where you will meet people who will tell you the story about Vlach’s magic, a custom that exist from period B.C . You don’t have to beleive in it, even they do, but you should left to your imagination. Follows way and visit of Vratna monastery, that lies hidden between the high peaks of Miroc Mountain beside Jabuča River. Vratna Monastery is located at the very entrance to the famous Vratna stone gates. Departure to Kladovo, accommodation at the hotel. Overnight.

Day 4. Kladovo – Fetislam – Diana - Tabula Traina – Donji Milanovac - Kladovo (B,L) (cca 240km)
After breakfast, visit to Fetislam, the fortification situated in Kladovo on the bank of Danube. Fortess was built in 1524 by the Ottomans and had strategic importance during the Austro-Turkish conflicts. Than, next on our way is Diana Fortress, which represents the hugest and best preserved Roman Fortification /castrum/ on the Danube. After that we will have boat ride to Donji Milanovac. We will see most beautifull part of Iron Gate with Trian Tabula. Tabula Trajana is a memorial plaque erected to mark the end of road construction. After boat ride, visit to „Open Air Gallery“ on Djerdap Lake. Late lunch in a beautiful enviroment, with magnificant view on the wide Danube gorge. Gethering with the naive sculptor, the host who will tell you the story about Vlachs. Continuing of the tour along the Danube toward Lepenski vir. It was the centre of one of the most important prehistoric cultures. At the Lepenski Vir site, the remains of religious architecture dating from 6500 to 5500 BC have been found.Depart for Golubac and visit the famous XIV century Golubac fortress. Danube River is 6 km wide on this place, and called „Serbian Sea“. Follows trip toward Viminacium II A.C., a roman town and military camp. Numerious graves were discovered on the necropolis of this ancient town. Departure to Belgrade. Accommodation at the hotel, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5. Belgrade (B, L) (cca 20km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Panoramic and walking tour of Belgrade with a local tourist guide. First, we will visit the Republica Square, Knez Mihailova Street, Belgrade's main pedestrian zone, than Terazije, St. Sava Orthodox Church, Parliament and St. Mark's Church and the Royal palace. We will take a walk at the Kalemegdan fortress, primary built by Celts in the third century. Here we will have Belgrade underground tour. A perfect way to discover the hidden secrets of Belgrade is to explore underground. These underground places present older layers of Belgrade that various cultures built over ramparts of the conquered city, a scenario which occurred 38 times. Lunch at the Kalemgdan Fortress, below confluence of nor only two big Rivers - Danube and Sava, but also crossroads of civilisations through history. Visit of Saint Sava Temple, the largest Serbian Orthodox church, the largest Orthodox place of worship in the Balkans and one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world. Free time. Return to the hotel, overnight.

Day 6. Belgrade– Maradik – Monastery Krusedol - Sremski Karlovci – Petrovaradin Forterss - Novi Sad – Belgrade (B,L) (cca 200 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Maradik for visitingh a 150-year-old ethnohouse in Maradik. The house features exhibits that are between 50 and 200 years old. Visit the Krusedol monastery which was established by Bishop Maksim (Djordje Brankovic) in the XVI century. Depart for Sremski Karlovci. Sightseeing in Sremski Karlovci, a small baroque town famous for its beautiful architecture. Visit the town's Orthodox church, Patriarchate court, Orthodox Seminary, the Chapel of peace, Roman Catholic church and Gymnasium. Tour continues to Petrovaradin, also known at the Gibraltar on the Danube. Petrovaradin Fortress has many underground tunnels as well (16 km of underground countermine system). The first larger fortifications were created with the arrival of the Romans who built the fortress (Cusum) which was a part of the fortified borders (Limes) along the Danube. Depart for Novi Sad. Lat lunch in traditional vojvodinian’s restaurant. Panoramic sightseeing of key city sights and a short walk through the pedestrian zone. The stroll will include Sloboda Square, the Cathedral, City Hall, Zmaj Jovina Street, Dunavska Street and the Orthodox Church. Return to Belgrade. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 7. Belgrade – Sremska Mitrovica – Zasavica – Belgrade (B,L) (cca 170km)
Breakfast. Depart to old Roman town Sirmium, today Sremska Mitrovica, one of four Roman capitals and visit archeological site and museum. One of the oldest towns in Europe, it was once known as Sirmium, the capital of the Roman Empire. The complex is an archeological site of excavated objects that today is a unique open-air museum. Visit the Zasavica, special Nature Reserve, famous for its numerous and diverse wildlife. It is also famous as one of the centres for the conservation of genetic resources of domestic animals in Serbia. Lunch in the nature. Return to Belgrade. Free time for individual exploring of the city. Overnight.

Day 8. Belgrade
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time till transfer to the Airport.

End of the program.
