Golubac fortress Golubac fortress

In the northeastern part of Serbia, at the entrance of the Danube in Europe's biggest Gorge, Iron Gate, there is an old Golubac Fortress, rising as the gates of this part of Serbia. Its excellent location and environment leaves no one indifferent.

Although it is built on a high rock on the steep cliffs, it has changed its owners many times. Here met and clashed different armies, but the fortress still stands at the same place as witness to the past, where true authenticity undermines the only main road that passes through the fortress.
