Sid is situated in the southwestern part of Vojvodina, in western Srem. The highway and the railroad track Belgrade - Zagreb pass through the community.

The find of the locality Gradina testifies that life in this area dates since prehistoric times, and in the ancient town Berkasovo, a helmet from Roman times was found. Sid with its picturesque surroundings, mild slopes of the mountain Fruska Gora, water currents of Sava, Bosut and Studva and three reservoirs near Sot and Erdevik offer different possibilities for vacation and recreation. Bosut still bears an epithet of the cleanest river in Europe. Hunting grounds in Vorovo, Vranjak and Morovic are rich with pheasants, rabbits and roe deers.

When you arrive to the Sid's community, it is worth to stop for a while and see the Gallery of Paintigs of Sava Sumanovic, the Museum of Naive Ilianum, the locality at Gradina, Iconostasis in Molovin, the monastery in Privina Glava, or the old Gothic Church in Morovic.

Nearly to Sid, at km 108 of the highway Belgrade – Zagreb is situated the Commemorative trait of Srem's front. This monumental complex was built at the place where 13 000 of fighters, who gave their lives for liberation of the country during the Second World War, were killed.
