Belgrade

Novi Sad

Novi SadNovi Sad is situated in the southern part of the spacious Pannonian plain by the river Danube in the region of Backa, 75 km southwest from Novi Sad is Belgrade. The trademark of the city is the Petrovaradin fortress. It is located on the right bank of the river Danube, opposite to the city center. It is built between 1692 and 1790 according to the plan of the French architect Sebastian Voban. The most massive manifestation is certainly the summer musical festival EXIT that gathers around 250 000 to 350 000 young people.




Devil's Town (Djavolja varos)

Devil's TownDavolja Varos is a geographical region of south Serbia, by the Radan mountains near Kursumlija. The region features exotic formations described as earth pyramids. Scientists say that they have been formed by erosion. Since 1959, Djavolja Varos has been under protection of the state and by a 1995 decision of the Serbian Government, it was proclaimed a natural good of outstanding importance and put under the first-category level of protection. A natural spring is located beneath the pyramids and has a high mineral concentration. There are two springs: Djavolja voda (Devil’s Water), with extremely high acid water and high mineral concentration, and Crveno vrelo (Red Well).
In 2007, the site was a nominee in the New Seven Wonders of the World election.




Sargan Eight (Sarganska Osmica)

Sargan EightThe romantic sound of a steam-powered train going through a beautiful countryside is not the Orient Express Story but our reality. Not far away from the Zlatibor and Tara Mountain is the Sarganska Osmica or The Figure of Eight of Sargan which is the narrow railroad shaped as a number eight (osmica).






Palic

PalicThe Palic area offers a lot to the visitors including coach rides, sailing, a large ZOO, botanical gardens, art exhibition of the works of the naive artists, tennis courts, fitness center which is open throughout the season. You can also go for a visit to a prosperous farmstead which includes an organized lunch or to an ostrich or horse farm. Palic is situated in the north of Vojvodina, 7 km from Subotica. The water of the Palic Lake is filled with naturally occurring minerals. The temperature is approximately 25C.
