The river network in Serbia is very developed, and the thickest river node in Europe, which consists of river Tisa, Tamish, Begej and Caras and network of channels Danube-Tisa-Danube is in the vicinity of Zrenjanin. The most rivers are with fast flow due to the fact that it is over 50% of mountainous terrain in Serbia. Danube passes through Serbia in length of 588 km and creates a large number of branches, swampy areas, meanders and river islands. Danube flows through Carpathian bars and forms Djerdap gorge, which is the longest, largest and most complex in Europe.
Lakes of Serbia are mainly created as a consequence of several factors, wind, ice picks, dams ... The most visited are those near large cities, Palic, Belgrade, Ludosh, Silver and
Vlasinsko lake.
