Tour date: 16.07.-20.07.2012.

Day 1 Arrival in the afternoon hours to the ethno village "Srna" – in the village of Inovo, which is located at the foot of the Old mountain, at 395 meters above sea level. A traditional welcome with bread, salt and homemade brandy, followed by a guest accommodation. Leisure choice, swimming in the outdoor pool in the ethnic villages, or - from 5 p.m. – light trekking tour of total length of 10 km, in order to acquaint guests with the immediate environment. Dinner consisted of local specialties. Overnight.

Day 2 Breakfast. Getting ready for the moderately strenuous all-day bicycle tour through the hinterland of ethno village "Srna". Today's tour will introduce the character of this almost completely wild landscape of eastern Serbia. Villages that we visited were very old, they rarely live more than 30 people and represent a sort of time machine in this area. The planned distance for the day ranged from 30 to 50 km, and reach an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level. We will have a picnic at one of the many beautiful places in the bosom of the mountain and visit the village of Janja and Ravno Bucje. After the adventurous spirit filled day, return to the accommodation. Dinner. Free time. Overnight.

Day 3 Breakfast. Moderately strenuous all-day trekking tour to the circular Trestene čuke and Preslap village, with a total length of 27 km and during which we will climb to 980 meters. The track is nice, runs largely through the forest, and often will open in a smooth and relaxing views of the whole landscape. On Preslap we will have a picnic and a longer rest break, after which we will descend to Ćustić to return to the ethno village "Srna". Free time. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 4 Breakfast. All day, an attractive and a little bit demanding, circular combined asphalt and off-road cycling tour length of 70 km, during which we will pass on the true lower crags of the mountain hills and through some quite up almost entirely deserted villages with emergency interesting archaic folk architecture. We will ride through the picturesque nature and will take you to one of the most beautiful landscapes of the lower parts of the mountain - site called Debela stena. On this beautiful and a little bit fairy place we will have organized a lunch made from fresh rainbow trout, as well as the opportunity to refresh properly in a small lake or on the shady terrace that hangs over him. After the break return in accommodation, where we stop at the road in a very unusual church of the Holy Virgin from the 14th century in the village of Donja Kamenica. We will also make a short break in the Holy Trinity monastery in Gornja Kamenica. Free time. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 5 Breakfast. Leaving accommodation with appropriate traditional Serbian gifts to each guest. End of program.

Bicycle tour through the upper Danube in Serbia

Serbs enjoy life and they allow the visitor to enjoy and welcome tourist with unimaginable hospitality. In the rural north of the country you will certainly ride your bike with the friendly people while you passing along Danube shore.

Day 1. Sombor
The journey starts in Belgrade or in Sombor (if you travel by car). If you arrival by plain in Belgrade you will have transfer to Sombor. Accommodation in surrounding salas farms. Departure to tour to Bezdan and Backi Monostor. This tour you will have as well if you arrival from Hungary by your bike to Sombor. Accommodation on some of the salas farm, typical old houses that still keeps spirit of past times. Dinner in salas farm. Overnight stay.

Day 2. Sombor-Kupusina-Apatin (approx. 35 km)
This day we will start with tour to Apatin, first city on Danube shore in Serbia who has marine for the ships. By very cozy location for relaxation, this city is very well known by their thermo mineral sources where Junakovic spa was built long time ago. On the road to Apatin we will visit Kupusina, village with mostly Hungarian population, where beside colorful Hungarian national costume, if you have lucky enjoy in Kupusina wedding where you will meet local customs. Accommodation in one of the chard. Dinner. Overnight stay.

Day 3. Apatin-Dalj (Croatia) (optional excursion) (approx. 35km)
Danube forming a natural border between Serbia and Croatia, so we'll one day spend in Dalj (Croatia). Before the Turks arrived in this village, a village was inhabited by the local Catholic population, which is later mixed with the Muslim and Orthodox families, and in the village you can see the influences of these different cultures. In this village was born famous Serbian scientist Milutin Milanković, and also in the tour of the village you can include a tour of his native home, the Catholic and ortodox Church, Patriarch's Palace... Return to Apatin. Overnight stay.

Day 4. Apatin – Deronje – Bač – Selenča – Kulpin - Backi Petrovac (approx. 80 km)
In the morning, return to Serbia. On the road further up to Backi Petrovac, we will pass by village Deronje, where Festival of Tambourine held from few years ago. We continue our tour to Bac (Bač), where we will see the fortress in Bac and the Franciscan monastery. Throughout history Bac (Bač) was Avar fortress, a royal city and seat of the diocese. Continue to Selenča, mostly populated with slovak nationalities. Short break. Departure to Kulpin, where you can visit Fantast Castle. In the afternoon hours, arrival in Backi Petrovac. Backi Petrovac is center of Slovak population and here you will visit Slovak house, museum of naive art. Accommodation. Overnight stay.

Day 5. Backi Petrovac-Čelarevo-Gložan-Čerević (Fruska gora mountain) (approx. 70 km)
Departure to Čelarevo, after breakfast. In Čelarevo you can visit the Museum of beer (Carlsberg) and passing through the village Gložan, you will meet Slovak culture. Departure to Fruska gora mountain. This mountain is National park and in village Čerević, you will have accommodation in the nature. Here you will have dinner. Overnight stay.

Day 6. Čerević-Novi Sad (approx. 50 km)
Departure in the morning hours to Novi Sad, capital of the northern province of Vojvodina. On the way to Novi Sad, we will pass by bike paths through Fruska gora mountain. On this mountain you have 17 Orthodox Monasteries, and you can visit one of them. Arrival in Novi Sad. Overnight stay.

Day 7. Novi Sad-Belgrade
After breakfast, transfer to Belgrade on flight back home or transfer to Sombor, if you arrival by car. The end of the program.

Duration of tour: 5 to 6 days (day 5, optional – visit to one of the salaš farmsteads)


This tour is quite challenging and is for people with good cycle fitness. Bicycles are not supplied.

The oldest national park in Serbia is Fruška Gora. It was proclaimed in 1960 and is around 80 km away from Belgrade, the capital of Serbia and around 25 km from Novi Sad, the second most important city in Serbia. It features gentle slopes, opulent fortresses and some very well-known vineyards. Its highest peak is Crveni Čot, 538 m above sea level, and the range lies along the bank of the Danube River. The flora of Fruška Gora mountain boasts around 15,000 plant species, 40 of which have the status of a natural rarity in Serbia and 30 species of orchid (18 of which have international importance). The animal life of this mountain includes 14 species of amphibians and reptiles that are on the IUCN Red List and around 211 species of birds. In this part of Serbia, the Eastern Imperial Eagle is nesting actively and is on the IUCN Red List. Along with exceptional natural beauty, this part of Serbia is unique in its cultural heritage: 16 Orthodox monasteries were built on this mountain in the period between the 15th and 18th century.

Day 1: Belgrade – Novi Sad (around 90 km)
After arrival at Belgrade airport, transfer to Novi Sad, from where our bike tour will start. Accommodation in private apartments. Free time. Overnight stay.

Day 2: Novi Sad – Petrovaradin Fortress – Sremski Karlovci – Novi Sad – bike tour + transfer by mini van (around 25 km) (BL)
After breakfast, we will start our bike tour in Novi Sad. Following the Danube shore, we will cross the bridge and visit the Old Town of Petrovaradin Fortress. Sightseeing of the fortress, visit to the Nature Museum and one of the art studios at the fortress. From the fortress we will continue to Tekije, where there is a church, after which we will go to Sremski Karlovci, a small baroque town by the banks of the Danube. Sightseeing of the town. Here we will have lunch at one of the taverns on the Danube River. Continue to Stražilovo, a beauty spot where you will visit the grave of our famous poet Branko Radičević. On this tour we will cycle mostly on main roads, through the city and just one small part in the forest.
Transfer by mini van to Novi Sad. Overnight stay.

Day 3: Eastern part of Fruška Gora – bike tour + return transfer to Novi Sad (around 70 km) (BL)
After breakfast we will start our bike tour from Novi Sad, to Sremski Karlovci, then we will continue to Krušedol monastery using a road with a somewhat challenging climb. Following the Fruška Gora forest we will visit several monasteries: Krušedol – over 500 years old, Velika Remeta, Grgeteg, Staro Hopovo and Novo Hopovo. We will pass through beautiful forest, vineyards and finally arrival in Irig, where we will have lunch and wine tasting at a wine cellar. After lunch, the mini van will pick us up and transfer us to Novi Sad. Free time. Overnight stay.

Day 4: Western part of Fruška Gora – transfer by mini van + bike tour (around 100 km, bike tour around 60 km) (BD)
After breakfast, transfer by mini van to Đipša monastery, near Neštin. Visit to the monastery, after which we will start our bike tour. From Đipša we will cycle to Kuveždin monastery, all the time surrounded by beautiful forest. At this monastery you can get water and refresh yourselves. We continue to Petkovica monastery, and after a tour we will continue to Manđelos. Stop off at Manđelos, tour and refreshment. Roads are good, surrounded by forest and agricultural fields. Through the village of Grgurevci, where you can stop and buy water, sweets etc in the shop. We then arrive in Bešenovo, where you will see the ruins of Bešenovo monastery. Continue to the village of Jazak, where you can visit Jazak monastery and water springs located deep in the forest. Continue to Vrdnik, a spa that lies close to several thermal springs. Accommodation in private apartments. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Along the Danube shore – bike tour + transfer by mini van (around 50 km) (BL)
After breakfast, you will take your bicycles and head north to the Danube. Riding through the forest, your first stop will be Rakovac monastery. The first written mention of this monastery dates from the early 16th century. Visit to the monastery. Continue to Banoštor, a small village on the Danube shore. Lunch in nature. You will transfer by ferry to the other side of the Danube river, from where you will continue your bike tour to Novi Sad along the banks of the Danube, enjoying the beautiful sunset. Arrival in Novi Sad. Overnight stay.

Day 6: Novi Sad – Belgrade (around 90 km) (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight. Program ends.
